For this edition of the CEP, Colt and James get a great opportunity to chat with the front-man of The Native Howl, Alex Holycross.  Alex and his crew hail from the Detroit area and they produce an extremely unique blend of folk, bluegrass, and thrash music.  The final product resulting from the work of these very talented musicians is what they call "Thrash Grass", which is also the title of their 2016 EP.  During this episode, Alex discusses the origins of The Native Howl, some of the dynamics of the band and their approach to music, social media marketing, the Squatty Potty, and much more.  Check out The Native Howl, as well as Alex's record label, Clean as Dirt Records, on all the relevant social media sites including Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram.  Also, be sure to download their music where all great music can be downloaded, and if you have the opportunity to see this band live, you won't want to miss it!

Episode 34

For this episode of the CEP, Colt and James chat with Matt Weik, of Matt Weik Fitness.  Matt is a health and fitness professional, as well as a writer and broker, who decided to leave the corporate world and venture out to work for himself.  Matt also hosts a podcast and in all the platforms that he utilizes, he exhibits a high level of motivation.  During this podcast we discuss Weik Fitness and some of the life experiences that brought Matt to his current endeavor.  If you follow him around the web I guarantee you will be motivated to step up your game.  Check out Matt at weikfitness.com, all the social media outlets, and download his podcast at iTunes and on his website.

Colt and James set up shop at the Monocle in St. Louis to sit down with hip hop artist, Rising Over Envy.  Rising Over Envy was performing at the Monocle for a show hosted by the StL record label, Far Fetched.  During our discussion, R.O.E. gave us insight into his name, his music, his creative influence, and even growing up in his family.  The conversation waxed Cerebral on more than one occasion as Rising Over Envy dropped wisdom on matters such as balance, the pitfalls of a comfort zone, and making the world a better place, one tile at a time.  Needless to say, R.O.E.'s dialogue fit right onto the Cerebral track and so we took this thing for a ride.  Be sure to find Rising Over Envy and show him your support at risingoverenvy.com.  Also, look for Rising Over Envy on all the social media sites, and download his music on Apple Music and Spotify.

Episode 32

Since the CEP couldn't go to L.A. we brought L.A. to us (via Skype of course).  In this episode, Colt and James got the long-awaited opportunity to sit and converse with Ace Ha.  Ace Ha, you may have heard of Scrub and Ace Ha, is one of the hardest working producers on the planet.  His collaboration with St. Louis' own, Scrub, is some of the hottest music on the scene and the 2 just keep putting out killer after killer.  During our discussion, we rap about Ace's roots, his music and inspiration, his collab with Scrub and their silent partner, the end of the world, North Korea, and what's in store for Ace's future.  We kick off the show with a couple of Ace's tracks that you can jam to on SoundCloud, just like I did.  And stay tuned to the end of the show to fill your ear holes with Scrub and Ace Ha's latest release, Sneaker Tweaker.  Chickdy check it out!!!

Episode 30

Colt and James were given a stellar opportunity to podcast at the 8th Annual Ink Spot Block Party in Troy, MO.  The Ink Spot Block Party consisted of some of the finest bands on the planet, who happen to all call the St. Louis area their home, and the show was spec-freakin-tacular.  Not only did Colt and James get to see the bands perform, but we also had the chance to interview The Ink Spot's own Robby Kallery And Big Dave Canoy, as well as some of the guys from Hollow Point Heroes, OATM, Sky Burnt White, City of Parks, and Fivefold.  Speaking of Fivefold, this was their second to last show and their last Ink Spot Block Party as a band, so needless to say emotions ran high.  But, by all standards, they put on a show that was unforgettable.  Now unfortunately we couldn't interview all of the bands, but we had a great time, met some of the greatest people on earth, and we can't wait till next year's Ink Spot Block Party.  We'll see you there and in the meantime, enjoy this episode!

Colt and James get the long-awaited opportunity to speak with Stephen Ogden, D.O.  Doc Ogden is a doctor of osteopathic medicine, bodybuilder, and co-host of the Clinical Muscle podcast on Advices Radio.  During the show we had the opportunity to dive into the world of healthcare in its current state, as well as where we think, or hope, the healthcare climate is taking us.  We also had the chance to discuss the Clinical Muscle podcast, which you can subscribe to and download on iTunes.  Clinical Muscle, hosted by Doc and Vijay Puri, is a fantastic bodybuilding/health/fitness show that's both informative and highly entertaining.  And as always, our discussion ranges from dogs sinking in the pool to Walmart conspiracies.  Great times were had so....chickedy check it out!   

Episode 26

Colt and James visit 2nd Shift Brewing, on The Hill in St. Louis, during the Salt + Smoke Hog Roast.  Not only did we have the opportunity to eat some delicious food and drink delectable 2nd Shift craft beers, but we also met with a couple of great guests.  Scott Kurtz is a home brewing extraordinaire and has a huge knowledge base regarding anything craft beer.  You can try some of his smoked porter on tap at Steampunk Brew Works at St. Louis Wine and Beer Making in Chesterfield, MO.  We also spoke with Heidy Murphy who has an online store at chicbeerblogger-trends.myshopify.com, she has a blog at chicbeerblogger.wordpress.com, and she has a podcast coming your way soon.  We had a great time taking in the atmosphere and talking with Kurtz and Heidy about all things beer.  Chickedy check it out!    

Episode 25

Colt and James get the opportunity to sit down with J.B. Anderson at Gaslight STL.  Gaslight offers a unique atmosphere where you can come in, have a local St. Louis craft beer, and watch one of a number of talented local acts record in Gaslight's beautiful studio.  After a tour of the building, J.B. invited us into the studio's control room to record the show.  Our discussion began with the roots and inspiration for Gaslight, which includes J.B.'s history, as well as his vision and desire to put St. Louis music on the map in a significant way.  J.B. discussed his collaboration with Media Outlaws, some of the talent that has come through the studio thus far, and his passion for doing those things that drive him in his life.  Check out Gaslight STL on Facebook to see some of the amazing videos recorded live in the studio, and head down to 4916 Shaw Ave in St. Louis to take the experience in for yourself.  You shan't be disappointed!

Colt and James take another ride on the podcast review train, but not before they discuss such banter as the birth of Pearl, James' vacation, and our awesome day at Steampunk Brew Works.  When these 2 podcast addicts finally get to the reviews, they discuss episodes 947 and 974 of the Joe Rogan Experience.  Episode 947 discusses the topic of The Church of Scientology, while 974 centers on the Westboro Baptist Church.  Both of these episodes give the CEP plenty of ranting ammo to keep our brains fired up.

Episode 22

Colt and James are at it again, reviewing a couple of great podcasts for you to chickecdy check out.  The first is the WTF Podcast with host Marc Maron, as he sits with the late and great Chris Cornell of Soundgarden and Audioslave.  Marc and Chris discuss the roots of Soundgarden and the Seattle scene in the 90s.  The second podcast review is the Voices of Bodybuilding, hosted by the very talented Mike Pulcinella.  Mike reviews articles discussing concepts like ineffective exercise ploys and much more.  Naturally, you can download these episodes on iTunes, like we did, and see for yourselves how much the ever-expanding universe has to offer.

James takes the occasion to discuss the topic, "Why We Feel: A Mini Study on Perception". In this first of a 2-part session, James goes into the weeds in an attempt to determine why we make judgements based on feelings, and how those feelings get in there in the first place. Episode 18

Colt and James rant about everything from The Mary Jane Brew Festival to truck drivers with bratwurst sized middle fingers. Also, the guys review the Hidden Brain podcast, Episode 68, discussing some of the pitfalls of the "Optimistic Facade" aspect of Facebook. Finally, the Cerebralites review the Science Vs. podcast episode titled "Antidepressants", submitted on October 28th, 2016. This episode explores the concept that antidepressant medications are ineffective, other than providing a placebo effect to the user.
